“I could’ve done better”, “I should have …”, “I can’t”, “I’m not good enough”, “I’ll fail”
Take a second to think about your day thus far. Have any of these phrases popped-up? Are they part of your everyday dialogue? Are you stuck in unnecessary suffering?
For the last few months, the majority these thoughts have been swirling around my mind; a negative connotation stuck to every move I made. I was in search of the “right” & “perfect” solution: the right job, the right partner, the right weight, the right path in life. We think we know what we want, then we get upset when things don’t work out the way we expected.
Why don’t they work out? Because the search for perfection is impossible. We’re running around trying to force & manipulate situations that we don’t have control over.
What I’ve learned over the past few weeks is when I’ve stop fighting and actually LET GO, it becomes easier.
This is surrendering to the unknown.
There’s freedom when we give up the fight and surrender to what is.
I surrender to my own resistance. I surrender in order to receive love. I surrender for peace. I am learning to live between effort and surrender.
