THE EASY WAY TO DECLUTTER

We’re so close to the first day of summer, and that means one things for me: it’s time to do some major decluttering (what, you thought that only happened in spring?). The change of seasons is the perfect time to reset.

When you remove those the things that you no longer have a need for, it frees up space for the things that are meaningful, significant, and special.

WARDROBE:

All of my heavy sweaters, sweater dresses, boots, scarfs, cold weather accessories, and sweat pants go into duffel bags and are stuffed into my overhead storage. I replace my under the bed storage with swimsuits, tank tops, loose tees, sandals, sundresses, and shorts.

KNICK-KNACK DRAWER:

Every home has that drawer that’s a hot mess of assorted items — receipts, pens, gum, Advil, old mail, magazine rip outs, and invitations. A few times a month I declutter the drawer, throw away anything that I don’t need and file anything important in my AmazonBasics Expanding File.

Some of the sections I have are: Finances, Taxes, Receipts, Read Later (newspapers & mags), Cards, & copies of passport, drivers license, insurance cards, credit cards, etc.

MAKEUP:

If anything is either expired, dried out or just suspect; toss it immediately. I recommend investing a few bucks in proper storage solutions like small bins, brush holders, or drawer organizers.

DIGITAL SPACE:

I also like to frequently declutter my digital space: email inbox unsubscribe from meaningless newsletters and retail ads), camera roll (delete duplicate images), apps (remove apps I don’t use frequently), and desktop files (put files in correct folders).

Do you declutter your space frequently? What’s one area of your life that you want to declutter?
