Balancing a career, social life, mental health, children, relationships, and LIFE can be quite challenging. Whether you’re in school, an entrepreneur, working at a desk, a mother, or a combination; self-care looks different for all of us.
I’ve written about the importance of self-care multiple times (check them out here); and while I’m still a huge advocate of deliberately protecting our mental health, the actual term “self-care” has been morphed by the media into something that seems unreachable for the everyday person.
But don’t you worry! After exposing & overlooking the the bullshit; we can focus on the basics: balance, consciousness, & importance of taking breaks.
We can all agree that we need to give ourselves more time to unwind and relax – correct? Keep reading to see how I incorporate small breaks into my sometimes chaotic & always busy life.
I promise, a little time away from the everyday hustle can go a long way.
For the first year of my career, I put myself on the back burner and prioritized everyone else before myself. At a certain time, I felt the affects of my own neglect: exhaustion, frustration, burn out, loss of my reliable structure, and forgoing my wants.
It’s not easy, but the benefits of taking an intentional break definitely outweigh the negatives.
